What is a triathlon? Triathlon is one sport made up of 3 sports that we have all done at some stage. Swimming, riding and running is part of everyday Australian life and Triathlon Pink is an opportunity for every lady to get in and have some fun.
What does your morning hold for you….besides being a day you will never forget this is what is in store for you:
STAGE 1 – ARRIVE AND REGISTER
We will take it that you have already entered online at www.triathlonpink.com.au. So on event day you need to turn up to the registration desk first. There will be racks where you can place your bike.
Line up in the row that corresponds with your surname. You will be required to show a photo ID and you will then receive your bib number.
Go to your appropriate bib number line where you will receive your goodies bag, number bibs and timing chip. You can then head to the transition area.

STAGE 2 - GO TO TRANSITION
It is now time to head to transition. You will need to line up to have your brakes and helmet checked. Remember to put your helmet on your head before getting to the front of the line. Once in transition find you numbered bike rack and place your bike on the rack.
Place a towel on the ground next to your bike and then place your shoes, socks and clothing that you will wear on the ride and the run here. Remember to also place your cap, sunglasses and any other equipment in transition. Place your helmet on your bike so that you do not forget it.

STAGE 3 – WALK TO THE POOL FOR YOUR BRIEFING
Event briefing will always be in the pool area. You will be told when to start heading over to the pool for your briefing. Please be patient and listen to the announcer as we would hate for you to miss your briefing. Your briefing will inform you of any details about the course and what to expect out on the course on the event day.

STAGE 4 – GET READY TO SWIM!
There will be four bays for waiting swimmers. Each wave will go off 1 minute apart with 10 women in each wave. Your number will be called out. Wave starts with numbers 1-9 and then works forward from there. You will go with your group to the first waiting bay and then progress each minute to the next waiting bay until you are at the swim start.

At the start you will be asked to enter the water and hold onto the wall where you will be informed how long until your start time. The whistle will go off when you are to start.
STAGE 5- SWIM, SWIM, SWIM
The swim is very easy as there will swim buoys in the water that you will need to swim around. You swim to one end swim around the buoy and swim back down to the opposite end of the pool to the next buoy. Depending on which event you are competing in will determine how many laps you do.

STAGE 6 – EXIT THE POOL AND RUN TO TRANSITION
You now need to get ready to ride your bike. Exit the pool and run/walk into transition. Remember your legs may be a bit wobbly as your blood has been helping your arms turn over in the pool. Take your time and get your breath.

STAGE 7 – TRANSITION TIME NUMBER 1
This is your first and probably most confusing time for transition. Find your bike and if you need to place shorts and shirt on, this is the time to do it. Take your time, put your socks and shoes on and lastly make sure you put your helmet on. Take your bike off your rack and look for the CYCLE EXIT SIGN. Once you exit the transition a technical ref will let you know when you can mount your bike.

STAGE 8 – RIDE, RIDE, RIDE
Enjoy your bike ride. Make sure you keep safe and ride at a nice even speed. Don’t sit too close to a Pinkie in front of you and if you are passing, pass one abreast. Complete your laps and head to transition.
STAGE 8 – TRANSITION TIME NUMBER 2
Your second time in transition will mean having to place your bike on your rack, then you can take your helmet off. If you need to place a cap or sunglasses on now is the time then turn and look for the RUN EXIT SIGN and head out onto the run course.
STAGE 9 – RUN, RUN, RUN OR WALK, WALK, WALK
Walking or running is the go in Triathlon Pink. You know your distance and how you feel so look after yourself and enjoy the last part. As you head to the finish line enjoy your time in the shute and let everyone know what you have done is something special
